Every human heart desires God: to know Him, to be loved by Him, to enter into a relationship with Him. This is particularly true for children and youth who can often understand this innate human desire better than most adults. For this reason, the mission of St. Catherine of Siena Catechesis is to create a home, school, and path for young disciples to be able to encounter God, particularly in the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Through human, spiritual, intellectual, and practical formation, these students are prepared not only to know their faith, but to live it in the world. At St. Catherine of Siena, together with you, the parents, we desire to fulfill the call of Jesus who says: “Let the children come to me.” (Matthew 19:14)
Classes are offered for preparation to receive the Sacraments of Initiation. Students in 1st grade and older are invited to begin the two year preparation for First Holy Communion. Students in 7th Grade and older are invited to begin the two year preparation program for Confirmation. Any student older than 7 years old that has not been baptized must also partake in a two year preparation to be Baptized and receive the other sacraments of Initiation.
